At Opus 3 Artists, the German-Colombian conductor and pianist Anna Handler will be represented by Tom Cunningham. She joins Opus 3’s artist roster including conductors Marin Alsop, Teddy Abrams, and Mei-Ann Chen.

Hailing from Munich, Handler graduated from The Juilliard School in May 2023, where she was mentored by David Robertson. She became the first conductor to receive the Juilliard Kovner Fellowship for outstanding classical music students.

From 2018 to 2021, she studied orchestral conducting with Nicolás Pasquet and Ekhart Wycik at the Hochschule für Musik “Franz Liszt” Weimar. She also studied piano at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, the Accademia Pianistica di Imola, and the Folkwang University of the Arts, with Ingrid Fliter, Pavel Gililov, and Henri Sigfridsson.

In the 2023/24 season, Handler will commence her role as a Dudamel Fellow with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, return to the Salzburg Festival, plus make her debut with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Grazer Philharmoniker, and the Münchner Rundfunkorchester.

Throughout the current season, Handler has debuted with the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin, Sinfonieorchester Liechtenstein, OFUNAM Orchestra, and Mecklenburgische Staatskapelle Schwerin.

She has also been an assistant conductor to Kirill Petrenko, Daniel Harding, Barbara Hannigan, Manfred Honeck, Mei-Ann Chen, Oksana Lyniv, and Simone Young.

As the founder and director of the Enigma Classica ensemble, Handler has collaborated with Arabella Steinbacher, Daniel Müller Schott, and Sabine Meyer, plus presented music education projects, which have featured at the Young Artist Festival Bayreuth.

Her accolades include the Rising Star Award from the European Cultural Foundation Europamusicale, and the Maria Ladenburger Förderpreis — presented by WDR, Cusanuswerk Foundation, and Deutsche Grammophon.
